From the moment you arrive, you’ll experience the charm of a bygone era accented with the comforts of today. Built in 1926 to resemble an Italian castle, this landmark — once host to A-listers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Marin and Elvis Presley — has a history that’s interwoven with the city. Outside, on Pine Street, you can board a trolleybus to transport you to downtown’s most popular places, like City Creek Center, Pike Place Market and the Space Needle.

    Area Information
At street level, Seattle is a booming metropolis. But to get a real feel for this city’s history, explore its underground. Take a walking tour through subterranean passageways and basements — these now-abandoned spaces were the original streets and storefronts of mid-19th century Seattle.

Above ground, take in views of Puget Sound along the magnificent waterfront. Stop off at the Seattle Aquarium to see colorful sea life plus educational conservation and research exhibits. Hop on a ferry to explore one of the islands off the coast. Who knows? You might even catch a glimpse of seals, dolphins or even an orca.
